Since May 1 is Decision Day, we are asking all seniors to wear a shirt or sweatshirt to show us where you will be attending college, what branch of the military you will be entering, or what work you will be doing next year.
Prior to the spring break our computer programming students participated in the CSTA-RI High School Programming Challenge with a number of schools from around the area. SHS took 2nd place! Congratulations!

The SHS Environmental Club took part in the Science Day march on Earth Day!
The Smithfield Times recently ran an article on an inspiring local student initiative called Dream It, Be It: Leadership Program for Girls. This group was supported by the Smithfield Soroptimist organization. Check out the article here.

This past Friday, Judge Judith Savage and Public Defender Mary McElroy spoke to Ms. Roderick’s English 11 Honors class on the parallels between this year’s Read Across Rhode Island selection Just Mercy and this year’s Law Day topic of how the 14th Amendment has reshaped American law and society. Judge Savage and Ms. McElroy sparked an important discussion on race and justice and inspired a new generation to lead the charge for change in our judicial system.
