I am pleased to announce that on Saturday, February 27, 2015, members of the National Association of Secondary School Principals voted me president-elect beginning July 1, 2016. This is a great opportunity for me both personally and professionally. I am looking forward to working with the membership to ensure NASSP continues to be a recognized thought leader and source for educational best practices throughout the country and across the globe.

There are many details that need to be worked out with the school committee and superintendent over the next few weeks. I wanted to give you a brief outline of the next two years.
  • I will begin my term as president-elect on July 1, 2016 and continue through June 30, 2017.  I will continue my role as principal.
  • On July 1, 2017, I will begin a one year term as president of NASSP. To seize this opportunity, I will be seeking a one year leave of absence.

As I mentioned, there are lots of details to work out. The superintendent and I will be presenting a plan to the school committee soon.
